Stemming from Brisbane, PERRY STREET PARK are your new Pop-Rock cure. Drawing their inspiration from artists such as Sam Fender, Gang Of Youths, INXS and Crowded House, they’ve cultivated a sound ready to define the next era of Australian Rock.

With decades of experience between them, PSP’s paths crossed in the thriving Brisbane music scene. Originally forming through sessions over 2018 and 2019 the boys decided to come out of COVID-19 with a fresh new project.

THE NAME

Perry Street is located in Harlaxton, Toowoomba QLD and is where Lead Singer, Benny Nelson and his partner Meghann lived in 2020. During the Pandemic and this difficult time, Benny and Lead Guitarist Ryan Brook, would write songs in the 3 bedroom, off-white and navy blue weatherboard house.

Straight across the road from the house was the park. An open, unfenced area with lush green grass, a swing set and a spring rider in a trimmed sandpit.

When Ryan and Benny wrote the first ever PSP song titled ‘The Fight’ in the Perry Street home, they recorded an acoustic version of the song as a voice memo on an iPhone. Once they finished the recording, it automatically named itself as the location; PERRY STREET PARK. They knew straight away this was a front runner for the title of their project they’d been planning and writing for.
